After raising two sons in Slingerlands, New York, I followed my dream to Middleburgh, New York. I started Windhorse Thoroughbreds, LLC in 2006 with the purchase of our first filly, now one of our broodmares, Saint Misbehavin’.
Over the years, I was fortunate to receive the guidance and training of the experts at Gallagher’s Stud, Inc. in Ghent, New York where the Windhorse Mares and their offspring have lived and received the best of care and attention. Marlene Brody, owner, and Mallory Mort, farm manager, have generously shared their expertise and experience in allowing me to get hands on experience in the breeding business. Anne Jardine, office manager, and Bert and Stephanie Poucher, also of Gallagher’s, have been equally generous with their time and efforts in guiding my training in the business operation and care of thoroughbred horses of all ages. I am so grateful for their generosity and friendship.
We moved Windhorse Thoroughbreds to Cotton Hill Farm in Middleburgh, New York in 2009. We continue to add and make improvements to our Farm on a regular basis.
I am so fortunate to have my husband and best friend John at my side. Windhorse Thoroughbreds and Cotton Hill Farm would not be possible without him. John is the co-founder and a partner of Lavelle & Finn, LLP, a law firm in Latham, New York and a CPA. Having John and his fabulous attorneys and staff helping with all the many business, design, website and legal matters has been an enormous help to me. I am grateful to all of them.
John has supported my dream and has taken to being a farmer with gusto. John will manage the farm so that I can concentrate on the horses and their care. We are a great team and have been for over forty years.
Please visit us often at Cotton Hill Farm.
